Module 2

Today we met and viewed the instructional video that showed us how to link our blog to the wiki. This process wasn't too difficult since the video was very helpful. I am guessing that some sort of screen capturing tool was used to create this video like Jing. This is a useful tool for creating lessons which can be used by students to review work. After this we looked at some blogs created by teachers. I have successfully used a blog with Year 3 in the past. It was mainly used as a space to reflect and discuss work anywhere, anytime and in any place. Podcasts were also shared here and we used it as a portal to communicate with students in the UK. Feel free to take a look. http://bookwrap.edublogs.org/
As the eLearning coordinator I also created a blog to keep teachers up to date with new tools for learning, however, I didn't really keep that up to date. I will have to get back to it soon. http://interactivewhiteboards.edublogs.org/

Module 1

My name is Alisha. I am a Year 1 teacher and today I began the Web 2.0 course. This is my second attempt at doing Web 2.0 through the CEO, however, I think I will be more successful this time since a small group of teachers at my school are gathering each week to work through the modules together. I am very familiar with Web 2.0 tools. I have used them for learning in the classroom and have completed a course with SybaSigns a few years ago so this course will be a refresher for me. Will Richardson was a presenter at the first course I completed and he spoke brillantly about the use of this technology for learning. My other interests include Photography, Travel and Playing Words with Friends (I am sure I will get tired of this soon).
